Position: Six month contract, from 11/07, extended to 08/08
Reporting to: Principal Commercial Facilities Manager
My Role: ‘Intelligent client’, overseeing service delivery by a Total Facilities Management company to commercial office buildings containing a mix of Network Rail staff and third party tenants.
Sites: 11 commercial office buildings (or parts of) in London, Saltley, Lichfield, Nottingham, Chester, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Perth (total c. 70,000 ft²)
Contract Overview: Health & Safety and Statutory Compliance audits and reviews to ensure Network Rail was meeting obligations and TFM company was delivering as per contract
Overseeing operational expenditure to ensure it was kept within budget and delivered Value For Money
Space Management:  Internal and external tenant liaison
Ensuring compliance with corporate standards for Network Rail occupied areas
Ad-hoc Projects: Closure of Cheadle Hulme site, timed to coincide with a break-clause in the building’s lease
Relocation of staff from Saltley to central Birmingham, and site hand-over to an operational branch of NR
Closure of Nottingham site and relocation of staff to an existing site in Derby at the end of the property’s lease
Administration: Records check of the properties – services provided, occupancy audit etc.
Production of property element of Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery plans for Network Rail operating teams
